EMEA Technology CODESYS
EMEA Technology and the CODESYS ecosystem
CODESYS is a platform; what makes it run on a machine is engineering. This page sets out the scope of the partnership, who does what, and how we work.
Who does what
To leave no room for confusion: the CODESYS platform is developed and maintained by CODESYS Development GmbH. EMEA Technology is an independent engineering company that engineers that platform for machine builders and plants in Türkiye.
- Platform Development environment, runtime, libraries and release management — the responsibility of the brand owner.
- Engineering Machine-specific architecture, application code, motion profiles and the interface — on our side.
- Supply Identifying the right licence items and procuring them.
- Field Commissioning, measurement, operator training and handover documentation.
Where we work together
Most enquiries fall into one of three categories. Knowing which one you are in shortens the first conversation.
- A new machine Coming in while the mechanics are still on paper is the most productive timing. Axis selection, drive class and the cycle-time target are decided together at that stage.
- A problem on an existing machine Length deviation, scrap, or stoppages caused by synchronisation. We measure first and establish whether the fault lies in the mechanics or in a tuning parameter.
- A platform migration Moving from a vendor-specific control system to the standard. It begins with a functional analysis of the existing program; making the risk visible up front is essential.
The principles we work by
These are not marketing lines but rules we hold to at quotation stage as well.
- We do not propose packages you will not use. If we cannot write down why an item is needed, it does not go in the quote.
- We do not call it working until we have measured it. Cycle jitter and following error are documented with recordings and go into the handover file.
- The code stays with the customer. The library structure and source are handed to the machine owner at the end of the project.
- We tell you where the limit is. If a target cannot be reached because of the mechanics, we say so at the outset rather than trying to paper over it in software.
Where we are
Our engineering team is in Bursa: the head office at NİLTİM and a second office in the ULUTEK Technology Development Zone. We provide field support across Türkiye, working through screen sharing and trace review where a problem can be solved remotely and going to site when it cannot.
Frequently asked questions about the partnership
Do you only sell licences?
No. The licence is one link in the chain; the real work is getting the architecture right. We run the process with you from drawing up the axis list to developing the application, commissioning on site and training the operators. We also supply licences on their own to teams that only need those.
We have our own engineers — can we take consultancy only?
You can. A common arrangement is that the critical decisions are taken together: architecture review, setting up the library structure and measurement support during commissioning. Your team writes all the code; we establish the structure and the measurement discipline.
Will we have access to the code after the project?
Yes. The library structure and the source stay with the machine owner at the end of the project. We treat that as part of how we work rather than an option — maintenance tied to a single supplier works against the customer in the long run.
Do you provide training?
Yes. The content is shaped around the team’s level: it can be an introductory programme starting from the fundamentals and the development environment, or advanced work focused on motion control and cam profile design. See the Training Request page to pre-register.
Which industries do you work in?
Mainly machine building, packaging, textiles, metalworking and process lines. Machine type matters more than sector: any machine with synchronised axes produces similar engineering problems, whatever industry it sits in.
How soon can you start a project?
The technical discovery call can usually happen the same week. When application development starts depends on current workload, and we give a realistic schedule at quotation stage. For urgent breakdowns we prioritise with remote support.
Can you support our machines abroad?
Remote support works regardless of geography — most problems are solved through trace review and screen sharing. Where an on-site intervention is needed, travel is planned separately. This is how we work with machine builders who export.
What assurances do you give on confidentiality?
We sign a non-disclosure agreement before the project begins. Technical information about the machine, recipe parameters and production data are never used in another project. Our in-house libraries are kept separate and deliberately contain no customer-specific data.
Is there a warranty after commissioning?
We give a defined warranty period on the delivered application, during which software-related problems are fixed at no charge. Mechanical changes or requests for new functionality fall outside it and are planned separately. The scope is written out explicitly in the quotation.
Can we approach you with a small request?
Of course. We also take on short pieces of work: tuning a single axis, interpreting an existing trace, or verifying a licence item. Most requests of that kind are settled in a phone call and are not charged for.
